William Strachey, the eccentric uncle of Lytton Strachey the author, spent much of his early life in Calcutta, India.
On returning to England, he refused to change to Greenwich Mean Time, spending the rest of his life at least five-and-a-half hours ahead of everyone else. He would take breakfast at tea time and spend most of his waking hours in candlelight.
The Day & Night Collection is inspired by Strachey’s eccentric whim, leaving you to change between Day and Night, at will.
William Strachey (1819 – 1904)
